Bath Tourist Information Centre to supply cards for new Bike in Bath scheme
14th September 2011
Bath Tourist Information Centre will become the official outlet for the new Bike in Bath scheme which launches in the city tomorrow.
From Thursday 15th September, residents and visitors will have a new option to get around the city by using the cycle hire scheme, Bike in Bath - a public bike hire service which allows users to take and return a bicycle from one of four city centre docking stations. The system will create a rapid and flexible network of bikes in the city as well as an alternative to car use.
Bikes are accessed using an electronic card which can be obtained from the website www.bikeinbath.com or from Bath Tourist Information Centre.
The four Bike in Bath docking stations will be located at Railway Place, Orange Grove, Green Park Station and the Holburne Museum. There will be a total of 58 bikes available for hire.
The stations are located at key arrival points and locations, so that people reaching Bath by train or bus can move around the city using a fast and ecologically-friendly means of transportation. The web site www.bikeinbath.com allows users to view the number of available bicycles at all sites in real time and members who have an electric card can log in and check their account at any given time.
