BTP targets potential visitors with latest winter campagin
15th September 2011
Bath Tourism Plus (BTP) will be targeting visitors this winter with its latest campaign to promote Bath and the surrounding area as the ideal place to enjoy a break.
The traditionally quieter months between September and March are promoted in the campaign which highlights the popular Bath Christmas Market as well as other festivals and events, revitalising spa breaks, romantic getaways and Christmas shopping.
The campaign will primarily target consumers across the UK, using PR and marketing via www.visitbath.co.uk and the recently-produced Winter Highlights brochure. 40,000 brochures will be distributed over the next few months to Tourist Information Centres, train stations within potential and key visitor markets such as London and Birmingham, and via enquiries from individuals looking to plan a break to Bath.
The winter campaign is strongly supported by the local tourism industry following its success in previous years. David Jackson, head of marketing at Bath Tourism Plus, says: “The winter campaign is well received by our members who are keen to ensure the winter months remain busy in the run up to and after Christmas. Unlike many other destinations, we are very lucky that there is such a wealth of events taking place over the winter months that we are able to use within our marketing”.
The winter campaign will highlight Bath’s diverse range of attractions, events and festivals, restaurants, shops and accommodation. The free brochure can be collected from the Bath Tourist Information Centre just off York Street, or by logging onto www.visitbath.co.uk.
