Radstock
Radstock is one of the best preserved former coal-mining towns in England - the basis of its conservation area status.
Local people and visitors alike are able to immerse themselves in the history of the area in the exemplary Radstock Museum, which covers all aspects of industrial & social history of the North Somerset Coalfield.
On Waterloo Road, the Memorial Park provides a green space for informal relaxation by the brook. Tom Huyton Park, with its extensive range of play equipment for a variety of ages, draws children from far and wide.
Running into the town are two routes for cyclists and walkers - the local Greenway and a section of the national cycle network, running from Bath through Radstock and onto Frome and the South Coast.
There is a wide variety of walks available around Radstock, such as the Miners and Black Mountain trails (guides available to buy from Bath Tourist Information Centre), and surrounding the town, set within glorious countryside are a wealth of attractions, including historic and picturesque villages.
