Days out with very small children can be lots of fun and very rewarding - but sometimes they can descend into chaos! Avoid this happening with these top tips, which will help you have a stress free, memorable time with your little ones in Bath...
1. Pick up a Visitor Card for great discounts (from July 2007)

2. Get ideas from Bath Tourist Information Centre
Friendly, knowledgeable staff members at Bath Tourist Information Centre are always on hand with great ideas, hints and tips for things to do with children of all ages, and are well equipped to help you plan your day - with leaflets, event and attraction tickets and tour bookings.
3. Get a copy of the 'Knee High Guide to Days Out in Bath'
Filled with great ideas of things to do and days out, as well as listings of family friendly restaurants, shops and attractions showing their family facilities, this little guide is brilliant for anyone visiting Bath with children.
4. Use Park & Ride
Save yourself time and money, while starting your family adventure right at the start of the day, by using the city's park & ride services. Children travel free, and will love the view of the golden city from the top deck!
5. Book your meals

6. Know 'What's On'
Bath boasts a full programme of major events and festivals throughout the year, and knowing what events are happening in the area is a great idea - not only will you know events that you can attend with your family, but it stops you being caught out in particularly busy parks, streets or buildings that you plan to visit.
7. Visit midweek
You may find the quieter periods in Bath are great for spending quality time with your little ones. As well as the benefit of less queues, staff members have more time to devote to each little visitor, and no views will be blocked by those 'bigger kids'.
8. Use the City Sightseeing Bus
This is a great way of getting around the city and seeing all of the fascinating sights, without any wear on little legs. City Sightseeing buses operate regularly throughout the year offering a 'hop on' hop off' service which you can use all day. Little ones go free (up to age 12), and you'll enjoy it too, with either audio or live guides offering an entertaining narrative en-route.
9. Use Bath as a base
As well as lots of things to do in the City of Bath itself, there are many great activities and attractions to visit in the surrounding areas, including Somerset, Bristol and Wiltshire. Why not take a longer holiday here, and visit some of the South West's finest attractions on day trips from your perfect base in Bath.
10. Check the Weather
Bath's wonderful parks and gardens are wonderful in the sunshine, but not so much in the pouring rain. However, there are is plenty to do in the area no matter what the weather, so check a few days before so that you can plan your day accordingly.
