Antiques
Stroll around the Upper Town to discover a selection of antique shops in Bath which display a wide range of antiques including furniture, ceramics, glass, textiles, architectural antiques as well as books and maps. The Old Bank Antiques Centre houses 17 antique dealers with displays of Georgian and Victorian Furniture, art deco mirrors, English and Continental wall lights along with much more. There's also an auction house in Bath which holds 40 sales a year and every Friday general valuation days are held in the salesroom of Bonhams.
Galleries
There is an abundance of galleries in Bath including collections at the Victoria Art Gallery which is free to visit, the gallery houses work by Gainsborough and other leading artists from the 15th century to the present day. There's also the Holburne Museum and the Museum of East Asian Art both with fascinating collections.
Many commercial galleries can be found in the Upper Town which offer contemporary visual arts for sale, changing exhibitions as well as talks and readings.
