Type: Museum
The 120 foot neo-classical Tower was built for wealthy eccentric William Beckford in 1827 as a study retreat which housed part of his art collection & library. Today it contains a museum collection on the first floor illustrating his life & interests. Visitors can climb up the newly restored Tower into the Belvedere for panoramic views over Bath & countryside.

Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays; Easter to end October 10.30am-5pm.

Road Directions
Head north out of Bath on Lansdown Road, following signs for Bath Race Course and Lansdown Park & Ride. Limited Parking. If visiting Bath for the day park in the Lansdown Park & Ride car park, the Tower is within sight, only a 7-minute walk away!
From junction 18 of M4 take the A46 to Bath and follow signs for Bath Racecourse. The Tower is half a mile past the racecourse on the right.
Public Transport Directions
By Bus: take no. 2 bus (no. 702 on Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays) from Bath Bus Station to Ensleigh or Lansdown Park & Ride bus from Milsom Street.
