About

Bringing the natural healing properties of Indonesian spa rituals and practices to the rolling hills of Somerset, Montigo Wellness is a force to be reckoned with in the contemporary spa landscape. The country-house setting could not be more quintessentially English, and yet, once you step through the door and into the restful sanctuary space you are reminded of the expertise of the Asian holistic health specialists who have only recently taken it under their wing.

At the former Charlton House you are greeted with a cutting-edge spa experience, rooted in ancient traditions passed down and refined between generations. You are transported to the verdant tropical gardens of Bali, or indeed the whitewashed villas of Nongsa, where Montigo Resorts first found its footing. You are reminded of the fact that your therapist has been trained to the standards of the prestigious Healing Hotels of the World.

The landscaped grounds are alive with the sound of restorative nature, the dappled light of the orchard is a real sight to behold. Yoga therapies and Pilates classes make a masterpiece of the fairytale setting. Much the same can be said for the Ashmira Botanica products used, derived from the very finest, ethically sourced natural ingredients, and the flow of the experience itself.

Journey through steam rooms of different temperatures to cleanse your pores and flush toxins from your body; take a dip in the state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool to ease your joints and soothe your muscles. In between, make your way to one of the tastefully accented treatment rooms for the programme of restorative body therapies and skin treatments that await.

Astute and attentive to the latest developments in the industry, the therapists are able to offer a wide range of rituals drawn principally from the Balinese, Thai, and Javanese traditions, including Molten Candle Wax and Hot Lava Shell massages.
