Bath Festivals & Events

Come to the city during any month and you’ll find something exciting taking place.

Bath’s year-round programme features some renowned annual festivals and events that attract visitors and famous names from all over the world.

The Bath festival period runs right throughout the year, kicking off with a selection of famous authors and literary themed debates at the renowned Bath Literature Festival.

March sees the city centre transformed into an urban race track, as runners from across the globe pound the streets for 13 miles to complete the Bath Half Marathon.

As spring emerges, it’s time for a colourful and mix of comedy at the Bath Comedy Festival, before moving into the summer months to discover the latest season’s styles with Bath in Fashion.

During mid-May and June the streets are truly alive with a variety of festivals.

Watch out for some incredible visual performances and the Speigaltent at the Bath Fringe Festival, whilst keeping an ear out for the wonderful sounds of the International Bath Music Festival.

It’s time to hop on your bike in June and take part in our local cycling event Bike Bath, before discovering the stunning Roman Baths by Torchlight in the warm summer evenings of August.

By September, get your bonnet at the ready and practice your waltz for the Jane Austen Festival, then give you’re a taste buds a treat to remember at the Great Bath Feast as autumn arrives.

Towards the end of the year, celebrate some of the best classical music with the Bath Mozartfest and cinematic favourites at the Bath Film Festival.

Last but certainly not least, you can guarantee to finish off the last of your Christmas shopping at the Bath Christmas Market, adding festive sparkle to Bath’s city centre. 

You’re bound to find plenty of events to enjoy in Bath - who knows, you might even discover a new passion whilst you’re here!
