Bath has three Park & Ride services situated on each side of the city to suit motorists approaching from all directions, which operate seven days a week. Buses run into the city centre from all three Park & Ride sites up to every 15 minutes, with a journey time of 10 minutes. All buses are fully accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs. 

What times do the services operate? 

All three services operate until 11:30pm Monday-Saturday, with the last services leaving the city centre from their respective stops at 11:15pm. On Sundays, services run until 6:00pm, with the last services leaving the city centre at 5:45pm. 

We advise visitors travelling by car to consider using one of Bath's Park & Ride services to save money on parking charges, avoid the stress of driving in the city centre, and help improve air quality. 

Lansdown Park & Ride (service 31) 

Runs from Lansdown to Milsom Street in the north of the city centre. The first bus departs from Lansdown at 6:15am Monday-Saturday and 9:30am on Sundays and Public Holidays. The last bus departs from its stop on Milsom Street at 11:15pm Monday-Saturday and 5:45pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. 

Is it the best one for me to use? 

Lansdown Park & Ride is the best service to use if you are approaching Bath from the M4 motorway (from South Wales or London).

Newbridge Park & Ride (service 21)

Runs from Newbridge to Westgate Buildings in the south of the city centre. The first bus departs from Newbridge at 6:15am Monday-Saturday and 9:30am on Sundays and Public Holidays. The last bus departs from its stop on Westgate Buildings at 11:15pm Monday-Saturday and 5:45pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. 

Is it the best one for me to use? 

Newbridge Park & Ride is the best service to use if you are approaching Bath from Bristol or Keynsham via the A4 Bath Road. 

Odd Down Park & Ride (service 41) 

Runs from Odd Down to SouthGate shopping centre in the south of the city centre. The first bus departs from Odd Down at 6:15am Monday-Saturday and 9:30am on Sundays and Public Holidays. The last bus departs from its stop at SouthGate at 11:15pm Monday-Saturday and 5:45pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. 

Is it the best one for me to use? 

Odd Down Park & Ride is the best service to use if you are approaching Bath from the south (e.g. from Stonehenge and other destinations in Somerset and Wiltshire). 

Where do I buy tickets? 

Visitors are encouraged to purchase digital bus tickets in advance using the First Bus app, however physical tickets can be purchased by cash or card aboard all buses. The latest ticket prices and timetables can be found on the First Bus website. 

All three Park & Ride services offer single and group return tickets (for two adults travelling together), which are the most cost-effective ticket option for adult passengers. 

Parking

Parking at all three Park & Ride sites is free to those using the bus and returning on the same day. All three sites are open 24/7 and vehicles can be parked overnight at the owner's risk, provided that the necessary payment is made.

How much do tickets for Bath's Park & Ride services cost? As of October 2026, adult return tickets cost £4.00 for one person and £5.50 for two adults travelling together.

Are there discounts for children? Yes, up to five children aged under 16 can travel free of charge with each adult passenger. 

How much does parking cost? Parking is free to anyone using the bus and returning on the same day. Anyone not using the bus, or returning on a different day, must pay the necessary parking charge. 

Can I leave my car overnight? Yes, but you must pay the necessary parking charge for the duration you plan to leave your car for, even if you're using the bus to travel to and from the site. Leaving your car overnight is at your own risk; all three sites are open 24 hours a day, with no security gates.

Can I park a camper van/motorhome at the Park & Ride sites? Yes, but only at Lansdown Park & Ride, which has no height restriction.
