Bath is a fantastic base from which to explore the rich and varied countryside surrounding the city. Bath is also well placed for day trips to admire the picturesque villages of the Cotswolds and Wiltshire, such as Castle Combe, often named the ‘prettiest village in England', Tetbury, home to the largest concentration of antique shops outside of London, Corsham, home to Georgian buildings, made from the same Bath Stone as you find in the city and Bibury, proclaimed by William Morris to be ‘the most beautiful village in England’ - you can decide for yourself which you prefer!
