The city is home to two universities - the University of Bath and Bath Spa University - and several colleges covering all types of study, from undergraduate and postgraduate to part-time and vocational courses.

As a Bath resident, you’re even able to visit The Roman Baths, Victoria Art Gallery and Bath Abbey for free, as well as enjoying reduced ticket and food prices at other venues and eateries across the city with a Discovery Card – simply apply for your card online, then pre-book and show your card on arrival. Students also enjoy discounted entry to a range of the city's top attractions, including No.1 Royal Crescent, Mary Shelley's House of Frankenstein, The Jane Austen Centre, the Herschel Museum of Astronomy, and Beckford's Tower. 

Festivals and events

Bath has a full programme of events throughout the year, with Bath Music Festival and Bath Literature Festival in May, followed by the free Bath Carnival in July, the Jane Austen Festival in September and FilmBath in October.

As well as a big selection of exhibitions, theatre shows, live music, comedy and film events, Bath also has many free events throughout the month.

It's also a great city for watching live sport, whether you opt for cheering on Bath Rugby, watching some local football from Bath City FC, or heading to Bath Racecourse.

Hit the shops

It’s not just Bath’s many cultural attractions that offer student discounts and freebies. Whether you’re into hitting high street stores, independent boutiques or flea markets, Bath is a shopper's delight, with many shops offering students special discounts or deals!  

Party the night away

Up for a big night out? Bath’s nightlife offers a variety of unique venues. Take your pick from underground cocktail bars, glam nightclubs, huge pop parties at Komedia, themed club nights almost every night of the week at Labyrinth, regular live music gigs at The Bath Brew House, The Grapes, and The Bell Inn, weekly DJ sets at The Cork, and many more. You can also belt out your favourite tunes while savouring some delicious food in your own private pods at The Cork, or at Robun's new 'Bath Karaoke' venue all night long.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something more low-key, treat yourself to a night of stand-up comedy or a pub quiz at one of the city’s smaller venues.
