No visit to Bath is complete without sampling some of the best produce the city and surrounding region has to offer. Bath is lucky to be surrounded on all sides by some of the country’s most acclaimed farmers and producers, from bakers to brewers.

Cheese fans will love the selection on offer at Paxton & Whitfield, which with over 200 years history of sourcing and maturing exceptional cheese makes it Britain's oldest and most respected cheesemonger. Just outside the city you’ll find the multi award-winning Bath Soft Cheese, whose cheeses are stocked at shops and delis across the city.

You’ll find a range of brilliant shops and food & drink businesses in Shires Yard, a scenic shopping and dining destination set within a series of beautiful Georgian buildings, terraces and open courtyards.

There are also many farm shops and delis around Bath which stock local producers, from jams and chutneys to bread, cakes and cupboard essentials. Hartley Farm Shop and Flourish Foodhall both have an extensive selection for you to browse, and are just a short drive or bus journey from the city centre.

Pick up some local gins or beers at Independent Spirit of Bath, or browse a multitude of wines from across the UK and worldwide at The Great Wine Company. At Beckford Bottle Shop you can pick up a bottle of wine to take home, or enjoy it on one of their comfy sofas with some nibbles. Electric Bear Brewing Co. produce a range of beers on the outskirts of Bath, which you can sample at their taproom or buy a gift pack to take away.

You can also pick up some locally made wine from vineyards and wineries on the outskirts of the city. Minerva Wine sell bottles of their award-winning wines both and online and in their shop, which you can visit after a tour and tasting. Saddle Goose in Frome produces small-batch natural English wines and low intervention ciders, which you can order online or pick up from their Cellar Door.
