Public Transport
Bath’s coach, bus and railway stations are located in the heart of the city, so you’ll be perfectly placed to start exploring as soon as you arrive.
Bath has many regular buses that run across the city, as well as to neighbouring towns and villages.
You will also find e-scooters at designated parking areas around the city centre.

Cycling
Cycling is a great way to travel around Bath, and there are various cycling routes in and around the city. There are also plenty of walking routes for you to take in the scenery.

Walking
Bath is a small city and great for exploring on foot, and we have plenty of suggested routes to help you make the most of your time in the city.
Driving
There are quite a few car parks within the city centre, both long and short-stay, as well as on-street parking in certain areas. There are also three Park and Ride car parks, which help avoid getting stuck in any traffic congestion in the city centre.
Bath is currently operating a charging Clean Air Zone to urgently tackle air pollution in the city. It means that owners of all higher emission vehicles – except private cars and motorbikes – will need to pay to drive in the city centre.
From 1st January 2022, some of the Bath streets that have been temporarily restricted as part of the Council’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic will become permanently restricted, as part of the Bath City Centre Security scheme.
Motor vehicle access will be restricted 10am to 6pm, every day, in the following streets:
Abbey Green, Abbeygate Street, Bath Street, Beau Street, Cheap Street, Hot Bath Street, Lower Borough Walls, Parsonage Lane, Saw Close, Stall Street, Swallow Street, Upper Borough Walls, Westgate Street
Blue Badge holders will be permitted access to these streets with entry on Cheap Street, find out more on the Council website.
Cleveland Bridge Renovation
Cleveland Bridge is undergoing major renovations, limiting access to larger vehicles. Cars, pedestrians and cyclists can currently cross the bridge with roadworks in place. Find out more here.
