About

Wells Cathedral's highly-acclaimed Carols by Candlelight concerts return for 2022 with three performances in the run up to Christmas On Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 December.

Enjoy world-class music for Advent and Christmas sung by Wells Cathedral Choir, interspersed with festive readings and poetry read by a special guest. And see the Cathedral lit by over 3,000 candles each night, providing you with the perfect atmosphere to get in the festive mood!

Sponsor a Candle
Dedicate a candle to a loved one this Christmas, and add to the light of thousands of others at the Carols by Candlelight Concerts. Your message will be written around the base of one of the thousands of candles that will be lit each night. You can also choose to have your message printed in the programme as a keepsake.

Pre-Candlelight Dinner
This year, there is also the option to pre-book a delicious, two course, pre-concert meal at 5pm in the Cathedral Café, now known as The Loft!

Main course:

1) Local Sausages with Mashed Potato and Cider Gravy
2) Cauliflower Cheese with Garlic Bread and Salad (GF)
3) Fish Pie with Salad

Dessert:
1) Mince Pie with Clotted Cream
2) Meringue with Raspberries (GF)
