About

Set in the Somerset countryside near Bruton, the Manor House Inn is a striking 17th-century pub that combines historic character with relaxed, comfortable hospitality. From the outside, its traditional façade hints at its heritage, while inside, the building’s original features have been carefully preserved to create a space that feels both authentic and welcoming.

The interior showcases many of the inn’s original details, including exposed stone walls, flagstone floors, and distinctive gothic windows that bring in plenty of natural light. Throughout the pub, there are cosy nooks and seating areas that make it equally suited to a quiet drink, a casual meal, or a longer stay. There is also ample outdoor space, ideal for enjoying the surroundings in warmer weather.

Food plays an important role at the Manor House Inn, with a focus on high-quality pub dishes that balance traditional favourites with a more refined approach. The atmosphere remains informal and approachable, making it a place where both locals and visitors can feel at ease.

The inn, featured in The Sunday Times’ ‘Best Places To Stay In The UK 2026’ list, offers nine en suite bedrooms, each one thoughtfully decorated with in a calming colour palate with layered fabrics, eclectic artwork and luxurious amenities. Four of the rooms are located on the first floor above the pub, including two premium double rooms that feature roll-top baths. The remaining five rooms are set around a courtyard on the ground floor.

Across all rooms, original features have been preserved wherever possible, complemented by simple, elegant furnishings. The result is quality accommodation in a relaxed rural setting that feels comfortable and in keeping with the building’s history without being overly traditional.
