About

It’s the magical family adventure you’re looking for this Christmas!

Families can embrace the magic of winter with a one-of-a-kind adventure - Twilight Tobogganing! Mendip’s hidden Lapland returns from 7th November 2025 to 4th January 2026, where the Mendip Elves will be ready to welcome visitors for a truly festive treat

Each group gets private use of 8 toboggans, followed by a sparkling woodland stroll to an enchanted grotto, complete with a crackling campfire, s’mores, and delicious hot chocolate. This is a highly anticipated event and tickets are in hot demand, so early booking is recommended.

Located less than 30 minutes from Bristol, Mendip's family festive adventure promises to be an experience to remember!

Each booking includes:
- Half-hour exclusive use of half the slope
- Eight Zibob toboggans
- FREE Santa hats for everyone
- 10,000 magical fairy lights, flood lights and lasers
- Festive music
- Snow machine
- Santa-approved Toboggan License
- Woodland campfire
- S'mores kit including marshmallows, chocolate digestives and skewers
- Sparklers
- Hot chocolates for all tobogganers

If your group wants to continue with the holiday vibe, check out the licensed bar and cafe onsite, or be wowed by observing skiers and snowboarders.

As the winner of “Silver Event of the Year” at last year’s Tourism Awards, Twilight Tobogganing is a magical family adventure that can’t be missed. Sessions sell out quickly, so book yours today! Pre-Sale starting 27 August 2025 and General Sale starting 2 September 2025

New For 2025:

A Sparkling Woodland Grotto Like No Other

This winter, something truly magical is waiting in the woods. The Mendip Elves have been busy reimagining the enchanted festive grotto, part of the Twilight Tobogganing experience, adding hand-built shelters, rustic hazel fences and beautiful dry stone walls. It’s a place where wild adventure meets festive wonder - perfect for imaginative minds and muddy boots

Introducing Open Sessions - Ideal for Smaller Families

Mendip Activity Centre is offering a limited number of Twilight Tobogganing Open Sessions this year, available for individual booking. These sessions are perfect for families with one or two children who want to enjoy festive fun without booking a private session. Designed for children aged 4 to 12, the sessions are for children only; one adult must attend to supervise throughout the adventure, but adults are not able to take part in the tobogganing experience.
