Apex City of Bath Hotel

Still retaining its shine from its introduction onto the Bath hotel scene in 2017, the Apex, located in the city centre opposite Green Park Station, is more than suitable for guests with disabilities. With nine accessible bedrooms, the lifts, railings, wide corridors and open and airy layout all make this a great choice for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues.

Bailbrook House Hotel

Venture a little further out of the city centre to Bailbrook House Hotel, a magnificent mansion house situated on the eastern edge of Bath. Their two accessible rooms have walk-in showers, with furniture able to easily be rearranged on request. There’s also a dedicated and comprehensive section of the hotel’s website listing their range of facilities and features catering for people of all abilities.

Hampton by Hilton Bath City

Located in Bath city centre close to all main attractions, Hampton by Hilton Bath City hotel boasts 11 accessible rooms, with four of those interconnecting with another room in the hotel. Every booking also includes complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi and gym facilities.

Hotel Indigo Bath

This Grade I listed building has plenty of modern flourishes and is just a short distance from Bath Spa train station. The hotel has three accessible rooms, all fully equipped with wet rooms. There are no stairs along the route to the rooms, and lifts are suitable for wheelchair users. The accessible rooms feature wheel-in showers, hand rails, emergency pull cords, large print menus, bed rails, and raised toilet seats - some of these features will have to be requested when you book. The hotel can also supply vibrating pillows for those with hearing impairments to use for fire safety. 

For when you arrive, the hotel has lower reception desks and double doorways for ease and staff personally escort guests to their room and take their luggage. The building is a short walk away from free disabled parking, and the hotel also offers a valet service.

The Francis Hotel Bath

In addition to its two fully accessible rooms, this glamorous hotel on Queen Square also has a fully accessible public entrance, accessible public toilets and accessible routes around the building to reception, bedrooms, the restaurant and lounges.
Accessible guest rooms include a spacious layout with clearance for wheelchair mobility, appropriate door widths, accessible tables and a wet room with a shower, hand grab rails, a shower seat and an emergency cord. There is also the option of having a Deaf Guard alarm clock and emergency alert system installed for the hard of hearing.

Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort

The hotel offers car parking bays for disabled guests, and all public areas are situated on the ground floor without steps, and suitable for wheelchair users. There is a choice of designated accessible bedrooms with wet rooms, and one of the accessible rooms has an interconnecting bedroom, allowing easy access for a carer if required. The Spa is fully accessible, including swimming pool, treatment rooms, and gym, plus a pool hoist which must be booked in advance. 

If you wish to visit the neighbouring Bowood House and Grounds, this Grade I listed park has some gravel paths and uneven surfaces, which wheelchairs and pushchairs may find difficult. Designated disabled parking is available, and wheelchairs can be borrowed. Guests using a wheelchair or mobility scooter can access the upper terraces and into Bowood House via a ramp; however, the lower terraces and upper exhibition rooms within Bowood House are only accessible via stairs with hand rails.

Campwell Woods

Go off-grid at this picturesque woodland retreat, where pets and assistance dogs are welcome. Accessible parking and accessible rooms with adjoining rooms are available to book, and the Chief's Den is a large yurt with enough room for wheelchair access, however please note that you will need to walk a few steps for the toilet and other facilities on site.

Beechfield House

Book one of the four ground floor rooms at this grand country house hotel, all of which are wheelchair accessible. All the reception rooms, bathrooms and dining rooms in the hotel can also be reached on the ground floor level. If you make the team aware of any access needs when you book, they can direct you to the best parking areas and arrange for your luggage to be collected when you arrive.

The Crown

Book a cosy stay at this traditional pub in the countryside near Bath, which has accessible bedrooms featuring a roll-in shower, handrails and widened doorways. There is also level access throughout the pub and to the toilets, plus two disabled parking spaces next to the pub.

The Newt in Somerset

Expect five-star service at this beautiful country manor, which has its own spa, woodland, orchard and extensive gardens. Accessible rooms with adjoining rooms are available to book, accessible toilets are located throughout the site, and there is also ample disabled parking at the hotel. You are also welcome to bring service dogs.

The gardens are accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs, however transport is also available to those with mobility issues wishing to explore the estate.

New Leaf Farm

Looking for a relaxing rural retreat? The Hay Barn and Sheep Shed cottages at New Leaf Farm in the pretty village of Bathampton are both accessible to wheelchair users and feature downstairs walk-in showers. There are no steps to enter the cottage or gardens, and there are also parking spaces outside.
