1. Nordic Delights at SouthGate Bath

15th November 2018–7th January 2019

Head to SouthGate Bath for a magical Christmas shopping experience. Step through the magical wardrobe and enter the enchanted Nordic forest, complete with cosy cabins, forest glade and winter woodland animals. For an after-dark festive shopping trip, head to SouthGate on Thursday evenings for late-night shopping.

2. Bath on Ice and Glow in the Dark Mini Golf

16th November 2018–6th January 2019

Get your skates on and head to Royal Victoria Park for a spin on Bath’s festive outdoor ice rink. This year’s Bath on Ice is set to be bigger and better than ever – the rink will be a massive 39% larger. When night falls, head to the Mini Golf Course next door to enjoy some glow in the dark mini golf, before grabbing a wood-fired pizza and a festive tipple at Moguls Alpine Bar.

3. Cycle of Lights

20th November–24th December 2018

If you've got a few extra Christmas calories to burn off, head to Old Bond Street and put in some pedal-power to light up an innovative and interactive festive display.

4. Christmas Tree Carol Trail

20th November–1st January 2019

Wander around the city and follow the Carol Trail to see if you can spot all ten uniquely-decorated trees and identify the musical theme at each one.

5. Après Ski Bar at Abbey Hotel

21st November–22nd December 2018

No, you’re not in the Alps, but you’ll feel like you are at the Abbey Hotel’s Après Ski Bar! Step into the snow-topped Alpine lodge or snuggle up outside under a woolly blanket and enjoy hearty food and a steaming mulled wine.

6. Bath Christmas Market

22nd November–9th December 2018

Regularly voted as one of the most popular Christmas Markets in the UK, the 18-day shopping extravaganza provides a magical shopping experience, which is bound to get you into the festive spirit. This year’s event will see over 180 beautifully decorated chalets offering high-quality, artisan products. Bath Christmas Market is proud to be distinctively British, with over 80% of stallholders coming from Bath and the surrounding region, and 99% of products handmade in Bath, the UK or overseas with Fairtrade certification.

As you wander around the Market, keep an eye out for charming recycled-plastic decorations. This year, Bath Christmas Market are working with Christine Leech, Creative Director of Marie Claire Runway Magazine, to transform discarded single use plastics into creative Christmas decorations, with the help of local pupils of Widcombe Junior School. 

Don't miss the Market's all-new festive shopping area on Milsom Street. Browse the chalets lining the street, admire the stunning Christmas lights, soak up the festive atmosphere, and sample warming mulled wine and mouth-watering raclette-smothered jacket potatoes.

7. The Lodge

22nd November–9th December 2018

At the epicentre of Bath Christmas Market is the pop-up Lodge in Stall Street. Brought to you by Bath Ales and Framptons Café Bar and Kitchen, The Lodge offers a rustic and festive atmosphere to relax in. Enjoy locally-brewed beers and warming mulled wines as you unwind after a busy day of Christmas shopping.

8. Guildhall Christmas Market

22nd November–9th December 2018

Take a stroll through Bath Guildhall Market, the oldest shopping venue in the city, and you'll find the annual Guildhall Christmas Market. Seek out some treasures with a warming mulled wine and enjoy the festive atmosphere. 

9. Festive Family Artisan Market

24th November, 1st and 8th December 2018

On each Saturday during Bath Christmas Market, Queen Square will host a Festive Family Artisan Market. From a Kids Café and festive storytelling to Christmas arts and crafts workshops and face painting, there will be plenty to keep children of all ages entertained. With glass-blowing demonstrations from Bath Aqua Glass, tasty street food and local makers from Bath Artisan Market, there will be lots of activities on offer for adults too!

10. Shoppers’ Carols at Bath Abbey

24th November, 1st and 8th December 2018

Rest your weary legs and enjoy some festive cheer at one of Bath Abbey’s shoppers’ carol services. Enjoy an informal service with traditional carols in stunning surrounds.

11. Kingsmead Square Festive Street Food Market

Thursday–Sunday throughout Bath Christmas Market

This festive season, some of the South West’s most exciting street traders will come together at Kingsmead Square for a seasonal street food market. Treat yourself to a mouthwatering meal and sip on a glass of mulled wine or cider whilst enjoying live music from exciting local artists.

12. The Snowman with Michael Morpurgo

9th December 2018

Bath Children's Literature Festival presents one of the UK's most acclaimed children's writers, Michael Morpurgo, to celebrate his re-telling of Raymond Briggs' The Snowman. Michael will read an extract from his new novel, and The Snowman illustrator Robin Shaw will conduct a live draw-along, plus, there may even be an appearance from The Snowman himself!

13. Santa's Grotto

14. Luxury Gift Wrapping Station

10th December–24th December 2018

Once you've snapped up all your Christmas gifts, head to Milsom Place, where experts will be on-hand to beautifully wrap your presents. The service is free, but with a suggested donation to Julian House.

15. Snow Mouse at The Egg Theatre

12th December 2018–20th January 2019

Back by popular demand for the fourth year running, Snow Mouse at The Egg Theatre is an enchanting winter's tale for the very young. Enjoy the tale of a child and their new mouse friend and follow their adventures in a magical forest full of play, puppetry and music.

16. Peter Pan at Theatre Royal Bath

7th December 2017–7th January 2018

This year's pantomime at Theatre Royal Bath is J.M. Barrie's much-loved tale of Peter Pan. Starring Paul Nicholas (Eastenders, The Real Marigold Hotel, Just Good Friends), Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty), and Bath favourite Jon Monie, and featuring flying and exciting special effects, this will be an unmissable Christmas spectacular.

17. Victorian Carousel

14th December–30th December 2018

Bath’s beloved Christmas carousel will be making a welcome return to the city this festive season. Enjoy a whirl on the beautiful Victorian carousel, which will be stationed in Stall Street.

18. Carols by Candlelight

Bath Bach Choir’s much-anticipated annual festive event: three evenings of joyful Christmas music-making, conducted by Nigel Perrin and including carols from local children’s choirs and young virtuoso instrumentalists.

The American Museum and Gardens' festive schedule of events includes a family fun trail, a Christmas Craft Fair, Christmas Wreath Making and the opportunity to meet Santa.
