Koh Thai Tapas Restaurant
Relaxed dining with more spice! Koh Thai Tapas Bath is located in a stunning Georgian townhouse in the centre of the city. Just a waltz and a twirl away from the Assembly Rooms, the Cathedral and the Roman Baths, the restaurant is a warm candlelit sanctuary spread over three floors.
If you are popping in for a taste of Thai, the 24-hour ribs come highly recommended, as does Koh's own chicken satay. For a main, you cant go wrong with the roast duck curry, tender duck served in a red curry sauce, beautifully contrasted with fresh fruity notes of pineapple, cherry tomato and grapes. For those with milder preferences, the yellow curry is a great alternative with your choice of filling but just as packed with rich flavours.
On the carefully crafted cocktail menu, the favourites include a fruity gin-based summer daze with lime, passionfruit and midori melon liqueur or a long vodka-based drink: the koh samui cooler. If none of the beautifully presented cocktails on the menu take your fancy, ask the experienced bartenders to mix up your own bespoke beverage. There's also a selection of beer, cider and wine to complement your food.
Koh Thai Tapas was born out of frustration in Dorset in 2009, breaking Thai eating conventions as the first to offer authentic Thai food, cooked by native Thai chefs, but served in a European-style of tapas dining for the sociable and the adventurous! A place where the holy flavours of Thai cuisine could be shared and sampled tapas-style with fiery cocktails, far-flung beers and world-class music. Koh became a place for everyone to eat and enjoy. A place at once authentic, beautiful, unpretentious, relaxed and refined.
