About

Hartley Farm Shop & Kitchen is a fifth-generation family farm set in the beautiful countryside just a few miles from Bradford on Avon and the City of Bath. With plenty of free parking, it’s a convenient spot to enjoy quality food and a welcoming atmosphere.

The farm shop is stocked with locally sourced, seasonal produce and artisan products. A full-service butchers' counter features their own grass-fed beef alongside meat from nearby farms, while shelves are filled with fresh fruit and vegetables, handcrafted cheeses, jams, and chutneys. Every purchase supports sustainable food systems and local producers, reflecting the farm’s commitment to quality and community.

The farm kitchen, recognised as the UK’s Best Farm Restaurant 2023, serves up homemade dishes inspired by the produce from the shop. The menu includes hearty breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and a tempting selection of cakes and pastries, all made fresh daily. Sundays are a highlight, with a classic roast dinner that’s perfect for families or friends looking to relax and enjoy good food.

Hartley Farm Shop & Kitchen welcomes a wide range of visitors. Whether it’s families, couples, or food lovers keen to explore local flavours, the farm offers a comfortable and relaxed setting. Indoor seating is accessible, and the outdoor terrace provides views of the surrounding fields, making it an inviting choice for both locals and those visiting the area.

For those who enjoy a walk, the farm is close to scenic trails like the Bath Skyline and the Cotswold Way, as well as smaller local routes through fields and along canals. With Bath and its famous Roman Baths and Georgian architecture nearby, there’s plenty to see and do in the area.

Hartley Farm also runs events throughout the year, including tastings, food workshops, and gatherings that bring the community together. Whether visiting for a meal, a quick coffee, or to shop for local produce, Hartley Farm Shop & Kitchen offers a genuine connection to the land and the people who produce its food.

Children

Childrens play area with coffee & snack hut seperate to the cafe. Childrens menu available in the cafe and family events through the year. They also have farm animals and small animals on site for familes to enjoy and plenty of outside space for the little ones.

Sustainability

They are on a carbon zero mission with currently 40% of their own energy produced on site through solar. 2025 will see that pushed to 60% with the help of battery storage and the installation of car charging facilities. Rain water is harvested from their barn rooves and recylced for use in their toilets along with use on the farm for livestock drinking water and irrigation. They have a 3 acre organic market garden, produce grass-fed beef and source from local farmers, growers and makers to keep food miles down and celebrate the seasons.
