This section provides all you need to know about Bath travel, such as getting here via different modes of transport, parking, how to get about once you’re here and the areas surrounding the city. The TravelWest web site is also a great source of ideas for ways to get around Bath and further afield, including real time information on public transport options and a multi-mode journey planner.
Prior to your arrival, make sure you’ve taken a look or downloaded one of our free maps so you can easily find your way around.
The Bath Visitor Guide is a great way to find out the many different things to do including key attractions (such as Stonehenge, Longleat and our Roman Baths), a guide to the best accommodation (including a wide range of spa hotels, B&B's, and self catering) along with our restaurants and pubs guides, a guide to whats on and a round-up of our nightlife scene and up-coming festivals.
When you’re out exploring and looking for maps Bath has several way marker posts using the same map at multiple points around the city, so hopefully you’ll never be lost! (You can always ask a friendly local for directions though, who are often happy to help point you in the right direction.)
Keen to explore outside the city? Our downloadable Bath Map clearly shows key routes and the location of popular nearby areas such as Bristol, the Cotswolds, the Mendips and many more.
If you’re looking for other guides and maps Bath Visitor Information Centre sells a wide selection, which can also be purchased online too.
If you are planning on travelling to Bath by car, our Parking Map will help you find a suitable place to park around the city centre, however, if you’re after a hassle free trip to Bath then it is advised to travel by public transport as the city centre can become very busy during peak times.
