About

Join the Bishop's Palace and Gardens this August Bank Holiday for a thrilling finale to the summer holidays as they welcome back medieval re-enactment and combat specialists, Bowlore Medieval.

Set within the majestic ruins of the Great Hall and the RHS partner gardens, visitors can step back in time on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th August to experience live displays of medieval weaponry, re-enactments, and expert demonstrations throughout the day.

Expect to see longbows, pallaxes, dane hammers, alchions and langmessers in action, as Bowlore's skilled performers showcase their knowledge of historical arms in dynamic, choreographed combat scenes.

Visitors will also have the chance to explore The Black Dog, Bowlore's fascinating weapons and armour tent, where they can handle replicas and learn more about life in medieval times. Friendly Bowlore team members will be on hand to answer questions and share their passion for the past.

Entry to Bowlore Medieval is included with general admission to The Bishop's Palace and Gardens, including the Annual Pass, Day Ticket, Joint Ticket with Wells Cathedral, and Friends of the Palace membership.
