Explore the Hidden Treasures of the Mendip Hills with a National Landscape Expert
Location: Mendip Activity Centre, Mendip Hills National Landscape
Next Event: Monday 23rd June 2025 – Guided Walk: Butterflies, Birds & Brambles
Just 30 minutes south of Bristol and a short journey from Weston-super-Mare, the Mendip Activity Centre invites nature lovers to step into the heart of the Mendip Hills National Landscape for a unique guided experience. This 2-hour walk is led by Nathan Orr, Nature Recovery Ranger for the Mendip Hills National Landscape, offering rare insight into this protected area's hidden wildlife and habitats.
A Unique Wildlife Experience
This isn't just a walk – it's a chance to connect deeply with one of Somerset's most diverse natural environments. The 250-acre site includes ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, and historic quarry features - all brought to life by expert commentary. On 23rd June, participants will explore the season's best: butterflies dancing through the air, birds in full chorus, and brambles alive with summer buzz.
"I've done two guided walks with Nathan now, each one covering something different, and both times I've come away feeling more connected to nature." – Previous participant
