Just 30 minutes south of Bristol and a short journey from Weston-super-Mare, the Mendip Activity Centre invites nature lovers to step into the heart of the Mendip Hills National Landscape for a unique guided experience. This 2-hour walk is led by Nathan Orr, Nature Recovery Ranger for the Mendip Hills National Landscape, offering rare insight into this protected area's hidden wildlife and habitats.

A Unique Wildlife Experience
This isn't just a walk – it's a chance to connect deeply with one of Somerset's most diverse natural environments. The 250-acre site includes ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, and historic quarry features - all brought to life by expert commentary. On 23rd June, participants will explore the season's best: butterflies dancing through the air, birds in full chorus, and brambles alive with summer buzz.

What to Expect
A gentle 3-4km walk with frequent stops to explore seasonal wildlife

Ideal for curious minds aged 14+ (younger children welcome with a strong interest in nature)

Enjoy refreshments before or after your walk at The Alpine Lounge, the on-site café-bar offering hot drinks, snacks, and light lunches. You're also welcome to bring your own food and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

All walks begin at Mendip Activity Centre Reception, located on the edge of the Mendip Hills National Landscape, just below Bristol.
