About

Spring in the Woodland – Guided Nature Walk at Mendip Activity Centre

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Mendip Activity Centre, Mendip Hills National Landscape
Tickets: Booking required – visit mendip.co.uk to reserve your place

Step into spring with Mendip Activity Centre's first guided nature walk of the year – Spring in the Woodland – led by Mendip Hills National Landscape nature recover ranger, Nathan Orr.

This two-hour guided walk is an invitation to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the natural world. Taking place within Mendip Activity Centre's stunning 250-acre site, the walk will meander through ancient woodland and spring-rich grassland, uncovering signs of seasonal change, budding life, and the hidden wildlife of this unique landscape.

Nathan brings a deep knowledge of the area's biodiversity and an infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors. Expect to learn about native plant species, hear tales of the local wildlife, and discover how Mendip's unique geology supports such a rich natural environment.

The walk covers a short distance – around 3 to 4km – but the terrain is steep in places and access may be limited. It's generally suitable for ages 14 and over, though younger nature lovers are welcome if they're up for the adventure. For specific accessibility questions, check out the Mendip Activity Centre's website or get in touch directly.

While refreshments aren't included, visitors are welcome to bring their own, or pop into The Alpine Lounge café-bar on site for a pre-walk coffee or a well-earned lunch afterwards.

This event is perfect for anyone looking to deepen their connection to nature, learn more about Mendip's unique environment, or simply enjoy a peaceful, guided walk in good company.
