About

Step back in time at The Bishop's Palace in Wells this September for a thrilling day of Viking combat, ancient crafts, and majestic birds of prey.

Award-winning re-enactment group Draca Beordor will transport visitors to the 9th and 10th centuries with their immersive Viking Age living history displays. Discover the forgotten skills of Viking craftspeople, meet fearsome warriors, and witness the weapons and combat techniques that once made the Vikings so feared. Based in Somerset, Draca Beordor are passionate about educating visitors on the rich culture of the Viking world.

Alongside the Viking encampment, enjoy the return of the ever-popular Medieval Falconry displays. Families can marvel at these magnificent birds of prey in flight at 12pm and 3pm. Be sure to allow enough time for entry, as these displays are particularly popular.

Between shows, visit Tony from Raptorcare and his team at their medieval tents, where you'll have the chance to learn more about these fascinating birds and the vital role they played in medieval life.
