As part of the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, £300,000 of European Regional Development Funding has been released to support businesses.
The grants, specifically for businesses in the West of England LEP area, are aimed at increasing business resilience. A third of this funding is earmarked in a focused way for businesses in the visitor economy, while the rest is available to all suitable businesses across the region.
Delivered by Business West on behalf of the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), the scheme will offer fully funded grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 to help mitigate some of the impact of the pandemic on eligible businesses.
The grant can be used to cover up to 100% of the costs for professional, legal, financial or other specialist advice. It can also be used on new technology and other equipment to help businesses with recovery.
The funding follows Business West’s recent COVID-19: Business Impact Survey, which revealed that 77% of companies who completed it said that COVID-19 had been negative or extremely negative for their business. 24% believe they will not return to pre-lockdown levels of business until at least next summer.
The scheme is for businesses based within the WECA area – if you are located outside of this, please refer to your local schemes.
To apply for a COVID 19 Business Support Grant, you will need to submit an application form to Business West, which can be found via the link below. Applications are open until Monday 21st September 2020.
