It has been a busy few weeks for the Visit Bath team, who have attended a number of PR and Travel Trade events.
Visit Bath, in partnership with Destination Bristol and VisitBritain, hosted eight print and online journalists from key publications in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. After the group had spent some time in Bristol, they came to Bath to enjoy a guided walking tour, afternoon tea in the Pump Room, free time to explore the shops and museums, and a night’s stay at the Francis Hotel. One journalist decided to extend her stay and explore more of Somerset, so we offered her plenty of tips and ideas of places to visit during the remainder of her trip.
We also attended the VisitBritain PR Connect event and VIBE in London. At PR Connect, Destination Marketing Organisations have the chance to network with all of VisitBritain's global press offices, find out what their audiences are interested in, and pass on details of what's new in Bath in 2020 so that they can plan potential international press trips. We were accompanied by Clare Langrishe from Heritage Services, who gave a brief presentation on the new World Heritage Centre, which will be opening at the Roman Baths towards the end of next year.
Visit Bath's Interim CEO Kathryn Davis attended VIBE, where she met with a number of international trade teams and London staff to discuss the opportunities in market for businesses in the Bath area.
