When visiting Bath, SouthGate is a must-visit shopping destination. Home to over 50 shops, 6 restaurants, 99 homes and an 876-space underground car park, you’ll find it right across from Bath’s main bus and train stations, making it the ideal city centre shopping destination.

Combining Bath’s classic Georgian style buildings with modern public spaces, SouthGate Bath is a lively shopping centre where you’ll find many of your favourite brands such as Superdry, Urban Outfitters, Apple, Topshop and Debenhams.

Facilities include baby change facilities, cash machines and customer toilets including those for the disabled. All shops, restaurants and the underground car park are fully wheelchair accessible as the centre is all on ground level with lifts available from the car park, which is open 24 hours a day – see for more car park information.

Across the road from the main shopping area - adjacent to the train and bus stations - you’ll find the Vaults, offering you an array of cafés and bars where you can enjoy anything from pasta and gourmet burgers to coffee and cake. It’s the perfect place to sit and plan your day, or to recharge your batteries over lunch after a morning’s sightseeing in beautiful Bath. Public Transport Directions

Bath is easy to reach by coach with regular coach services running from major towns and cities in the UK, direct to Bath’s bus station, which is located opposite the shopping centre.

Frequent services run from London Victoria coach station, London Heathrow Airport and London Gatwick Airport to Bath bus station. Megabus and National Express offer a service from London and neighbouring towns and cities such as Swindon and Taunton for as little as £10. Bath’s Bus Station is located right opposite SouthGate making access to SouthGate by bus really easy. All buses are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. For bus timetables and ticket prices please visit First Group.

Bath Spa train station is located right opposite SouthGate Bath shopping centre, making access to SouthGate Bath by train really easy.
Timetables and ticket prices: Bath is a 90 minute train journey from London Paddington, with easy links from Yate, Trowbridge, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Bristol, Swindon and Salisbury.

There are three park and ride buses that run directly into the city: Newbridge, Lansdown and Odd Down. Timetables and ticket prices: All buses operate seven days a week. Regular bus services run into the city at least every 12-15 minutes.
Using any of the Park & Ride takes just 10 minutes to get to the centre of Bath and costs £3.20 return Monday to Friday and £2.50 at weekends, with free parking. Sunday service times are 09:30 till 18:00 every Sunday and Bank Holiday except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday. Bus time may also run later than usual during the Christmas periods to accommodate peak times. All buses are wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

Road Directions

Bath is just over two hours from the centre of London and easily accessible via the M4 (junction 18).

To get to SouthGate’s car park head along St James Parade until the end of the road. The entrance to the SouthGate Bath car park is on your left just after New Look. Keep an eye out as the entrance comes up on you quite quickly. We have dedicated motorbike parking close to the entrance barriers and throughout the car park. With 876 spaces including parent and child and disabled parking, parking couldn’t be more convenient. Car park height limit: 2.1m. Opening times: 24 hours a day, Monday – Sunday

Cycling: There are bicycle racks outside SouthGate’s New Look store, outside the railway station and throughout the city.
