About
Poetry, music and magic collide as Dylan Thomas's most beloved work is brought vividly to life.
Don't miss a spellbinding evening of readings, discussion and live music as award-winning songwriter, author and broadcaster Cerys Matthews and Welsh jazz harpist and composer Amanda Whiting delve into the lyrical world of poet Dylan Thomas.
Dylan Thomas is one of our most beloved poets of the twentieth century. Richly melodious and expressive, his poems strike to the heart of living and dying, of childhood days lost and the vigorous beauty of nature. His restless creativity inspired countless artists, from Igor Stravinsky to Bob Dylan.
Cerys's deep connection to Thomas runs throughout her career: she has composed music for A Child's Christmas in Wales and published Out of Chaos Come Bliss, a collection of his poetry, as well as her own retelling of Under Milk Wood.
Cerys and Amanda will take us on a journey through Llareggub, the fictional village at the heart of Thomas's masterpiece. Together, they bring his lush, emotional voice to life, animating an unforgettable cast - from Captain Cat to Nogood Boyo - celebrating one of the twentieth century's most loved works.
