Celebrating 250 Years of Jane Austen – An Evening with Jessica Bull

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, an evening will be held with Jessica Bull, author of the devilish mystery Miss Austen Investigates. The event marks the launch of the second novel in her Regency-inspired series, A Fortune Most Fatal.

Jessica Bull previously worked as a librarian—under the false impression that it would allow her to read all day—before transitioning into a career as a communications consultant. Her debut novel, Miss Austen Investigates, reimagines Jane Austen as an intrepid amateur sleuth.

About A Fortune Most Fatal

A family in possession of a good fortune must beware…

Set in Kent in 1797, the novel follows Jane Austen as she spends the summer with her estranged brother, Neddy, the heir to the wealthy widow Mrs. Knight’s fortune. In order to remain in his benefactor’s good graces, Neddy must tread carefully. However, Jane soon realizes that he is in danger of losing everything when a mysterious young woman threatens to swindle the inheritance for herself. Determined to protect her family’s fortune and future, Jane embarks on an investigation to uncover the imposter’s true identity. But when the mystery takes a dark and dangerous turn, she must solve the case quickly—before she becomes the next victim.
