Bath has a lively evening scene, with plenty to discover after-hours. If you are a music fan, keen theatregoer, or fancy a drink out with friends, Bath is bursting with ways to entertain you after the sun has set...
1. Dining Out
You’ll be sure to find something to suit all tastes and budgets in Bath. For fine dining, The Queensberry Hotel’s Michelin-starred Olive Tree Restaurant has a delicious, seasonal menu, and for steak, try Hudson Steakhouse for top-quality dishes.
Bath boasts plenty of vegetarian and vegan restaurants too, including the award-winning OAK, serving inventive plant-based food. For Italian, visit the welcoming and family-friendly Martini Restaurant for authentic flavours.
2. Cocktail Hour
A chic cocktail bar blending the old and new, Circo Bar & Lounge serves a stunning array of drinks and has a designated rum bar. Head to The Botanist for botanical cocktails in a majestically historic setting, or try Vino Vino for wines from a carefully selected menu.
For later in the evening, hit the dancefloor at Walcot House, with live music, an old-school R&B room and cocktail bar, or go underground at Sub13, where DJs play late into the night. A popular and welcoming gay bar, you’re guaranteed a fun night at Mandalyns Bar, and Zero Zero has guest DJs and a flowing bar.
3. Grab a Pint
Try local tipples and enjoy quizzes and live music at Bath’s pubs. The Old Green Tree is a beer lover's dream, with plenty of real ales to choose from, whilst The Huntsman is one of Bath’s oldest pubs, with a relaxed atmosphere. The Bath Brew House has its own onsite microbrewery, and sister pub The Cork offers party pods for karaoke or watching live sport. Hall & Woodhouse has a cool, vintage vibe, and community-owned The Bell Inn has a regular and varied programme of live music.
4. Take a Seat
Bath has an array of theatrical options to suit every taste. Stylish art-house cinema Tivoli is perfect for film fans, and for laugh-out-loud evening entertainment, catch top comedians every Saturday at Komedia’s Krater Comedy Club. For a fabulously festive family evening out, buy tickets to this year’s pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, at the Theatre Royal Bath.
