Did you know that as a World Heritage Site, Bath sits alongside places like the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China as one of the greatest cultural sites in the world?

The newly-opened Bath World Heritage Centre is located in the heart of the city (and Bath’s Christmas Market) near to the Roman Baths. It is free to visit and features a host of interactive exhibits and displays designed to inspire, excite and inform.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers are on hand to answer questions and help people make the most of their visit. There are free walking maps to help visitors to the city explore all it has to offer: from spotting hidden details in the famous Circus and Royal Crescent, to learning about the extravagant funfairs that took place in Sydney Gardens, or finding out how Romans placed curses on their enemies.

A new mobile app, Bath World Heritage, is also available for download on Google Play or the App Store. Packed with fun features, trails, quirky facts and a GPS map, the app allows people to build bespoke itineraries based on their preferences.

When you visit a destination, you can collect augmented reality (AR) characters and stickers allowing you to take the ultimate selfie or create fun pictures with family and friends. You can collect golden acorns that are located around the city and reveal hidden gems. And a gallery view lets you save pictures from your trip, providing a permanent collection of memories.

The World Heritage Centre is part of the Archway Project, supported by the Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players, which also includes a brand-new Roman Baths Clore Learning Centre for pre-booked school and community groups, and a new Roman Gym at the Roman Baths.

Located in York Street, Bath World Heritage Centre is open daily and is free to enter, find out more here.
