About

Bath Abbey Shop offers a wonderful range of products inspired by the stories of the Abbey. Sitting within the 1920’s Jackson extension, the Abbey shop serves as a place for locals, parishioners, and visitors alike to purchase beautiful items related to their faith and interests.

There are pottery Monk paperweights, each one made, fired and hand painted by a family business in Devon to reflect the Abbey’s beginnings as a Benedictine monastery.

Inspired by a stained-glass window depicting the crowning of King Edgar in 973, there is a full range of gifts designed by a young illustrator whose business is supported by The Prince’s Trust Charity. There are many bespoke products created by small, independent businesses which celebrate the wooden West doors that date from the early 1600’s.

In addition to this, the Abbey shop also stocks a wide range of Christian gifts. The extremely popular merchandise from Christian Artist Hannah Dunnett showcases a range of exquisite artwork intertwined with bible verses and texts. There is a wide range of Christian books, from devotionals to prayer and liturgical titles, to bibles for all ages and in all translations.

There is even a shelf devoted to church related fiction with titles from Salley Vickers, Tracy Chevalier, and Reverend Richard Coles. The greeting cards, from 100th birthday messages, to ordinations, to words of encouragement, all feature bible verse.

You will be met with a smile, friendly service, and a warm inviting environment where old hymn boards have been converted to magnetic display boards, Victorian dressers house linen tea towels and a pair of antique doors are home to rosaries and bespoke decorations.
