About

The Indytute: Give the Gift of Good Times, Not More Stuff'

We all know the feeling—birthday panic, Christmas dread, that last-minute dash for something that doesn’t scream "I bought this in a hurry at the petrol station." Well, panic no more. The Indytute is here to save you from the tyranny of cluttered gift-giving and introduce you to a world of brilliant, handpicked experiences designed to make memories, not mess.

Nearly joined at the hip and visually stunning cities. Georgian townhouse meets Brunel. You could hire a bike and cycle between the two, or take a canoe if that’s your thing. Bristol is a city of art (11 Banksys at the last count) while Bath’s gentler culture hits you at every street turn.

The Indytute was born from a love of pop-ups and a desire to do something rather than just sit in the pub. It all started at Christmas in 2013 on a glittery little table in Selfridges—90 workshops in 90 days, complete with swing dancers in the aisles and 40 ukulele players serenading the bedding department. (Yes, really.)

The Indytute are a tiny team with a big heart. Clare (tge mum-and-daughter-run business’s very own wordsmith) writes all their amusing copy, Tamsin is their undercover experience tester and social media whizz, and if you buy a gift, you’ll be chatting with Helen, the glue that holds everything together. And then there are their fantastic partners—handpicked for their skills, personality, and pizazz—many of whom have been with them since day one.

They believe in gifts that don’t just fill up shelves but fill up hearts. That bring joy, spark conversations, and create stories that last longer than a scented candle.

Their experiences are easy to book, don’t cost the earth (literally and figuratively), and guarantee fun—because we all need more of that.

So, ditch the predictable. Give the unexpected. And let’s make life more interesting—one experience at a time.
