Fred Mawer Tours Bridgerton Scenes outside Dukes Hotel

About

Many scenes in Season 1 of the Netflix hit Bridgerton were filmed in Bath. On this entertaining two-hour walking tour of the city with award-winning, professional Blue Badge tour guide and Bath resident Fred Mawer you will visit the locations where the Regency costume drama was shot. These include the Royal Crescent (home of the pushy Featheringtons), Abbey Green (setting for the Modiste) and the Holburne Museum (Lady Danbury’s mansion).

The tour will also cover what was filmed in Bath for Bridgerton’s Season 2, for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, and for the upcoming Season 3, due to be released in May and June 2024.

Fred will provide lots of behind-the-scenes snippets about the filming, and give insights into the accuracy of Bridgerton's portrayal of life in Regency England.

Bath is frequently used for all sorts of filming, and the tour will explain why it is so popular. Fred will also touch on other famous films with scenes shot in the city such as The Duchess and Les Miserables, and highlight recent large-scale productions filmed in Bath. For example, parts of the city were turned into a winter wonderland for the filming of Wonka, the blockbuster prequel to Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story, released in cinemas in 2023. A number of scenes in the latest adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion (released on Netflix in 2022) were filmed in Bath too.
