About

A celebration of the 275th anniversary of possibly the greatest composer of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach.

Internationally acclaimed organist and Abbey Music Director, Huw Williams, will play the complete works of Bach over a series of sixteen concerts between November 2024 and September 2025.

Join him in this personal journey through these magnificent works - beginning this evening with Music for Advent .

As a church musician throughout his career, Bach's works were based around the liturgy. This series will mostly, where possible, present the music at the most appropriate liturgical season across the year. This inspiring and wonderful music moves across a wide variety of styles from the sunny optimism of the Italian influenced Trio Sonatas and concerti to the more majestic mature preludes and fugues.

Performed on the recently restored magnificent Bath Abbey Klais organ, this will be a unique opportunity over the coming months to hear these famous works presented by one player in one city.
