Bath Opera presents Donizetti's much-loved comic opera 'The Elixir of Love' at The Mission Theatre, Bath, as part of its Summer Tour 2026. This production offers great opera in just 90 minutes plus a 30-minute interval, sung in English by a cast of 8 and accompanied by piano.

The opera tells the charming story of the shy Nemorino, who believes a mysterious love potion will help him win the heart of the witty and independent Adina — but travelling salesman Dulcamara may not be quite the miracle-worker he claims to be! Packed with romance, humour and glorious melodies, including the famous aria 'Una furtiva lagrima' this lively adaptation is perfect for both seasoned opera lovers and those discovering opera for the first time.

There are two performances at The Mission Theatre, Bath: an evening performance on Friday 26th June 2026 at 7.30pm, and a matinee on Saturday 27th June at 2.30pm. The Elixir of Love is one of nine performances on Bath Opera's Summer Tour 2026, which also takes in venues across Somerset and Wiltshire between late June and mid-July.
