About

Looking for peace and inspiration? Spend a day travelling through the threads that lead us gently along the biblical story of creation, salvation and revelation. Beginning at Bath Abbey, and spread across three beautiful church spaces, this Quiet Day invites you into strands of reflection and creativity.

This is a unique opportunity to be guided around one of the largest tapestries ever created by a single artist, and to have space, resources and support for spiritual reflection and creative response.

Led by the Revd Gill Sakakini, Pioneer Priest and leader of the arts ministry 'Flock' in Shepton Mallet and Revd Betsy Blatchley, Bath Abbey's Missioner and former arts pioneer minister.

When? Saturday 28th Feb 2026 9.30am-4.30pm

Where? Begins at Bath Abbey and travels to two churches close by – St Michae's Without and St Swithin's, the Paragon.

What? The chance to explore the whole of Jacqui Parkinson's acclaimed 'Threads through the Bible' exhibition, with gently led creative activities and spiritual reflections at each venue.

Who? All adults welcome. No experience necessary. (Please note that we will be walking between venues, if you have access needs, please contact us to discuss).

How much? £25 for the day including all materials and entry to the Abbey and exhibition (excluding lunch which can be brought or bought) If the cost would prevent you coming, please email bblatchley@bathabbey.org

Only 20 places available. Book your tickets now.
