Celebrating 100 years of Louis Armstrong with UK jazz's hottest talent

Reimagining the spirit of Louis Armstrong's genre defining 1920s Hot Five band, this all-star line-up featuring the UK's best jazz talent including clarinettist – and our Artist in Residence – Giacomo Smith, Joe Webb and Laura Jurd. Together the five-piece perform pre-swing repertoire with a twist from Armstrong, WC Handy, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, and Fletcher Henderson. Blurring blues, ragtime, swing, and Latin, they bring a contemporary flair to jazz from this pioneering time and launch our jazz season in style.
