About

A Living Room regular returns, this time on his own terms. Pete Judge brings his solo piano compositions to Westgate Street for an evening of quiet, hypnotic music rooted in landscape, stillness, and something close to meditation.

More familiar tucked behind his trumpet with JOW and Three Cane Whale, Judge has also surprised himself and his listeners by releasing three albums of solo piano, with a fourth currently underway. The work is lyrical and unhurried, the kind of music that asks you to slow down and pay attention.

It has not gone unnoticed. Sarah Walker on BBC Radio 3 described the albums as meditative, beautiful, and full of emotion. BBC Music Magazine called him a composer with a real knack for creating stillness and beauty. Richard Williams, reviewing for The Guardian, chose one of the records as among the best albums of 2020.
