If your bride-to-be loves a good pamper, Bath is the perfect place to come for the ultimate spa weekend. Bath’s mineral-rich, natural thermal waters have been used for curative and medical purposes for over 2,000 years. A spa weekend in the city will leave your bride-to-be feeling relaxed, revitalised and ready to take on the next big chapter in her life!
Day One
Daytime
Get the hen do off to a relaxing start and give the hens the chance to get to know each other with a spa session in The Cross Bath at Thermae Bath Spa. The Cross Bath is a historic circular stone building that houses an intimate and peaceful open-air thermal pool. Fed by its own natural spring, this beautiful building can be exclusively enjoyed by a group of up to 12 and you can opt for extras such as champagne and nibbles for an indulgent experience.
Once you are feeling suitably relaxed, head to Frontlinestyle, who are renowned for their state-of-the-art facilities and expert team of therapists, who will be on hand to deliver complete head-to-toe pampering for the bride-to-be and her hens.
If you’re a smaller group with a generous budget, why not book into one of Bath’s luxurious spa hotels for total serenity? Find out more here.
Evening
Showcase your refreshed and pampered new look with wine, cocktails and a delicious artisan sharing board (or two!) at Vino Vino. If the weather allows, it’s an absolute joy to dine alfresco on the terrace, and if it’s a bit nippy they’ll even provide blankets and heaters.
Finish your evening at one of Bath’s sophisticated bars, Sub13. This stylish cellar bar has a well-deserved reputation for the best cocktails in town and the bartenders really know their stuff. Make sure you pre-book a private vault for maximum sophistication and party into the early hours.
Day Two
Daytime
Beat the morning after headaches with a trip to Thermae Bath Spa, where you can experience their brand new multi-sensory Wellness Suite, as well as taking in the stunning views over the city in their open-air thermal water rooftop pool. There are a selection of different spa packages on offer, and a range of spa treatments also available if you want to treat the hen.
No trip to Bath is complete without visiting the magical 2,000-year-old Roman Baths. Tread the historic pavements, watch as the thermal spa water rises from the Great Bath and learn how our Roman ancestors would have relaxed in the baths.
Next, step back into Georgian glamour in the adjoining Pump Room for a sophisticated afternoon tea, with live music performed by the Pump Room Trio to complement the stunning ambience. You’ll be served up traditional afternoon tea fare, along with some special additions, such as a poached salmon shot, opera cake, and raspberry choux.
Evening
You won’t be disappointed with an evening meal at OPA. Set in the old arches by the River Avon, this modern restaurant serves up delicious Greek cuisine in a lovely river setting. You may even get the chance to have a go at the traditional Greek custom of plate smashing!
Alternatively, if you fancy a bit of live jazz music with your dinner, Green Park Brasserie and Bar offers a relaxed, friendly environment which serves locally sourced ingredients from the Green Park Farmers’ Market on their doorstep.
