Bath has been a centre for relaxation for centuries, thanks to its thermal springs and connection to water. So, it’s no surprise we’re blessed with a wealth of brilliant spas, including some of the finest in the country.
Here we round up some Bath day spas we can’t wait to visit now they’re able to safely reopen. Whether you’re after a quick pick-me-up treatment or exclusive hire for a special day out, plan your post-lockdown rest and relaxation – all venues are adhering to Government guidance and safety measures – with some of these options...
Thermae Bath Spa
A special spa experience is guaranteed at Thermae Bath Spa. This is Britain’s only natural hot thermal water spa, where you can enjoy a revitalising, mineral-rich soak in the rooftop pool. It is open once again with a specially selected menu of spa packages – the Thermae Treat, Re-Kindle or Re-Energise – as well as a Twilight for Two package combining a spa session and dinner at the Springs Restaurant.
The Bath Priory
While you’ll have to wait a little longer for treatments in the The Garden Spa by L’Occitane at The Bath Priory hotel (the hotel will reopen fully from 19th May), you can book in some poolside relaxation. The Pool Fun Day Package includes exclusive use of the heated indoor or outdoor pools and poolsides for up to 12 people from two families. As well as making the most of the pool, you can enjoy an alfresco lunch, the award-winning gardens and a game of croquet or boules. Up to six people from one household can also book the indoor pool.
Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa
Set in 500 acres of parkland, escape for a day at stunning rural retreat Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa. The luxurious treatments and setting at the award-winning spa here are certain to help you unwind.
Packages currently available include the Secluded Escape, which includes a personalised treatment followed by a two-course lunch at the Michelin-starred restaurant. There are also two packages that include time at Lucknam’s Equestrian Centre, where you can connect with the horses and enjoy a hack around the beautiful grounds.
LUSH Spa Bath
If you love LUSH’s fresh and handmade cosmetics, it’s well worth booking in for a treatment at their Bath spa. The spa is downstairs at the Union Street shop, which is also open again now. There couldn’t be a more perfect space to try one of the chain’s newest treatments, which is actually inspired by the city’s folklore – Tales of Bath. Settle in for a seated massage, a rejuvenating bath and a sleep-inducing side-lying massage, backdropped by a soothing soundscape of water, enchanting music and folk tales.
THE PIG-near Bath
One of the more unique settings for a relaxing spa experience is in The Potting Shed treatment rooms at country hotel THE PIG-near Bath. These are private spa sheds, where you can well and truly switch off from the outside world.
Right now, you can choose from a hot stone massage, a rose upper body treatment, a bespoke massage and a mum-to-be massage treatment. Book in for their Big Outdoor Lunch on THE PIG’s alfresco terraces while you’re there too.
The Soul Spa
More than just giving your body some TLC, The Soul Spa’s restorative treatments help with mental relaxation, emotional fitness and calming your nervous system too. The mind-body therapies on offer include acupuncture, Reiki, Shiatsu, massage, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, energy healing and mediumship.
Face-to-face treatments begin again on 18th April and one of their trained healers, Monika, is offering a 20-minute mini healing session for donation only on that morning.
The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa
Step into a peaceful oasis spread across two Georgian townhouses on the city’s famous Royal Crescent. This award-winning hotel and spa opens its doors again on 14th April, welcoming guests to experience one of its renowned spa days. These range from a half-day package with a light lunch or afternoon tea, to the Royal Experience with a 90-minute signature treatment, British High Tea, two complimentary gifts and more.
Homewood Park Spa
The spa at country house hotel Homewood is treating visitors to holistic treatments once again. Their rejuvenating Luxury and Wellness package strikes the perfect balance of wellness and indulgence, covering a 60-minute treatment, use of spa facilities and a two-course dinner, lunch or afternoon tea.

Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel
The spa at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel is an oasis of relaxation and tranquility. Admire stunning grounds after you've taken a leisurely swim in their pool, unwind in the relaxation room, breathe in the fresh air from the outdoor hydro pool or treat yourself to a luxurious ELEMIS treatment.
The spa and leisure facilities will reopen on 12th April and one-hour time slots will be in place for use of the gym, and the pool and relaxation rooms must be booked prior to arrival with the spa directly. The thermal facilities will remain closed until further Government guidance has been issued.
