It's a cherished British tradition and the humble Sunday roast can come in many delicious shapes and sizes. Bath definitely isn't short of amazing restaurants who create the most mouth-watering roast dinners. Here are six of the best...

The Bath Brew House

The Bath Brew House is a down-to-earth gastropub with an onsite microbrewery. They also happen to do a great roast dinner, complete with all the traditional trimmings. There’s live music from 4pm on a Sunday, so you can enjoy your roast whilst listening to cool riffs!

Green Park Brasserie

Green Park Brasserie is one of Bath's most popular independent restaurants. Based in an old Victorian railway station, the Brasserie serves locally sourced Sunday Roast lunches with beef from Newton Farm (three miles from their kitchen) and Castlemead Farm chicken. On most Sundays you can find an Antiques or Flea Market during the day outside the restaurant in the old train station which dates back to the mid 1800s!

For an extra special Sunday treat, make for The Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel and their three AA Rosette restaurant, led by expert chef Dan Moon. Enjoy three courses for £35, accompanied by a complimentary glass of Prosecco. With dishes ranging from Aberdeen Angus beef to fillet of fresh sea bream, plus desserts like lemon posset and chocolate ganache, what's not to like?

Sunday roast at The Chequers

The Chequers

The Chequers has been a favourite with locals and visitors for over 200 years. They’re located in a great spot between the Royal Crescent and The Circus, and specialise in their unique Sharing Roast. Share a herb-crusted lamb rump along with the traditional roast potatoes, seasonal veg and red wine gravy. After your main, try and (fail to) resist their tempting desserts, from classic crumble to sticky toffee pudding.

The Huntsman

Located in a Grade II listed building in the very heart of Bath, The Huntsman is a comfy gastropub serving up delicious freshly cooked dishes. Traditional roasts are rightly served with roast potatoes, buttered kale, honey roast carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese and squash puree. What a feast!

Hare & Hounds

Choose from four scrumptious roasts at the Hare & Hounds. Will you go for the slow-rasted pork belly, the succulent sirloin, the Castlemead chicken or the delicious vegetarian option? Dishes are served with the all-important crispy roast potatoes and an assortment of veg, and in the summer, dine out on the terrace and admire the far-reaching views over Bath.
