About

The Beckford Bottle Shop & Bistro combines the artistry of a wine merchant with the expertise of a Michelin Bib-Gourmand-winning kitchen.

Nestled among the bottles are two large cosy red sofas, where you can make yourself at home and get to know their friendly team, who are always on hand to find you a glass of something you will love. If you find a tipple just too good to leave without, you can of course pick up a bottle from the shelves to take home.

In their Bistro, you will find over thirty wines by the glass and a selection of seasonal small plates, including Beckford Bottle Shop staples such as the Bath Chaps. The daily specials are carefully crafted from an abundance of local produce either from their allotment or foraged by their  Head Chef, James Harris.

Sharing is encouraged, so please don’t be shy about ordering multiple plates or digging into their British cheese and charcuterie boards, and on "No Corkage Tuesdays", you can open a bottle from the shelves without the normal corkage fee.

Wines

Over 30 interesting wines are served by the glass and over 300 bottles sit on the shelves. Open a bottle to drink in, or shop the shelves to takeaway.

Sustainability

The Beckford Bottle Shop has its own allotment and a full-time garden chef who nurtures a wide variety of heritage vegetables, herbs and flowers.

They use no dig, organic techniques and closed loop-composting. On top of this, BBS are actively reducing food waste and reusing much of it in ferments and pickles. They also use food waste from their sister restaurant, the Beckford Canteen in the same way. All cheese, charcuterie, meat, fish and grains come from the UK and all of their menus are written on recycled, bio-degradable, compostable paper.
