About
Float serenely above Bath and its honey-coloured crescents on a flight that begins in Royal Victoria Park beside the Royal Crescent, where their crew runs through a clear, friendly safety briefing before inflating the balloon. As the envelope rises and the burners whisper, the ground eases away and the city opens beneath you like a living map.
See the graceful arcs of the Royal Crescent and The Circus, then look down to the Abbey and Roman Baths at the city’s heart. The River Avon glints as it slides beneath Pulteney Bridge, while the Kennet & Avon Canal threads east with narrowboats and towpaths. Your pilot turns the basket for views of Solsbury Hill, Prior Park, Lansdown and the soft hills nudging towards the Cotswolds and Mendips. Spring brings blossom along the canal; summer flights glow in long evening sun; autumn paints Beechen Cliff copper; winter mornings can be crystal-clear for miles towards the Westbury White Horse.
No two flights are the same. A northerly may guide you over Bathampton Meadows; a gentle westerly can carry you towards Midford and the Avon Valley. Allow 2.5–3 hours door to door, including around 1 hour aloft, landing, a pack-down with the crew and road transfer back to the park.
Upon landing, raise a glass of Champagne with them (or an alcohol-free option) to toast your flight before they return you to the meeting point. Wear sensible footwear, and bring layers—ballooning isn’t colder than the ground, but mornings and evenings can be fresh.
As ever, flights are weather dependent. If conditions aren’t suitable, they’ll rearrange. If you’re visiting Bath and can’t make another date, you’re welcome to choose a refund instead of rescheduling. They keep it simple: impeccable safety, unrushed hospitality, and a view of a World Heritage city you’ll remember forever.
