About

Team Bath binds together all of the facilities, services and activities of the University of Bath’s Sports Department. Sport is at the heart of everything we do – and we offer something for everyone!

The Sports Training Village is open seven days a week and is welcoming to all who wish to participate in recreational sport or pursue an active, healthy lifestyle. We have more than 1.6million visits to the STV every year.

Whether you want to play sport recreationally, keep fit or compete for Olympic and Paralympic gold medals, our aim is to provide a positive, inspirational environment to give you every chance of succeeding in your goals.

The STV is home to hundreds of athletes, coaches, physiotherapists and sports scientists, as well as our team of knowledgeable and friendly staff who are here to help you. We are fully open to the public and provide opportunities for people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. Many of the activities on offer at the STV are available on a pay-as-you-play basis. However, if you are a regular user it may be worthwhile considering a membership which provides a cost-effective, long-term alternative.

Team Bath has a thriving community tennis programme, delivering coaching and classes during term-time and holidays for everyone from parents and toddlers through to adults. You can book PAYG tennis courts and play in the inspirational tennis hall. Walking Tennis and Inclusive Tennis are among the many sessions available, and our Cardio Tennis is also popular.

Team Bath’s swimming programme offers opportunities for all users, from learn-to-swim sessions and daily swim-fit sessions for the public to our performance set-up which is home to a British Swimming Performance Centre.

There are also a host of indoor and outdoor fitness classes (more than 60 to choose from, including Yoga, Zumba and Womxn) taking place at the STV throughout the week. These popular classes can be paid for class by class or can be booked as part of a Gym membership.

Our thriving ‘Tribe’ programme caters for children from two years old, and our trained coaches introduce young children to new sports and develop their skills as they progress. These multi-sports camps are fun and the children love making new friends and developing their sporting skills.

Throughout the year, Team Bath also hosts numerous sporting events which appeal to all the family – come and watch Team Bath play in the thrilling Super League Netball in the Team Bath Arena, Super BUCS Rugby, Athletics…Most recently the University of Bath staged the UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Championships 2023, a Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying event which provided a fantastic opportunity to watch international athletes compete in an action-packed 90-minute format.

So, if you are looking to do more sport, meet more people in a relaxed and friendly environment, spectate, or find a venue for a corporate hospitality day and are seeking a teambuilding activity with a sporting twist…. Team Bath is the place to come!
