About
Bath Central Library welcomes local historical mystery author Paula Harmon for an engaging literary event exploring the world of her Edwardian and late Victorian female sleuths.
Paula Harmon is known for writing mysteries set in eras where women were often told what they “couldn’t” do — yet her stories highlight women who not only challenged those boundaries but thrived beyond them. In her talk, titled “Why write about female sleuths in an era when women couldn’t and didn’t do anything?”, Paula examines how women of the time defied expectations, stood up to opposition, and, in some cases, solved crimes with intelligence and wit.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the author, hear about the remarkable real-life women who inspired her fiction, and take part in a Q&A session following the talk.
Free tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided.
