About
Bath Children’s Literature Festival 2025 runs from Friday 26 September - Sunday 5 October, staging more than 80 live events in the city for bookworms for all ages.
Festival goers will have lots of fun with storytelling, draw-alongs and the chance to meet their favourite authors.
There will be over 90 live events across 10 days, including Children’s Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce, festival favourites Liz Pichon, Rob Biddulph, The Gruffalo, and Cressida Cowell, and a series of FREE festival events for all the family.
Event highlights
- The festival’s opener, Party at the Museum: Up Late at The Holburne Museum, will take place on Friday 26 September, from 5pm to 9pm. This free event features popular book characters, Pokémon fun, art sessions and the Unicorn Academy Nail Bar.
- Bafta-winning actor Rose Ayling-Ellis will share her inspirational heroes and talk about her career, including being the first deaf presenter of the Paralympics. She'll also be talking about her book Marvellous Messages.
- Watch The Spectacular Phoenix Show draw-off with comic creators Neill Cameron, Laura Ellen Anderson and James Turner.
- Join in with big draw-along shows, with Tom Gates’ creator Liz Pichon and illustrator #DrawWithRob Rob Biddulph.
- Pamela Butchart, whose hilarious stories about teachers and pupils are so popular in primary schools, will be bringing TWO new books, fun, laughter… and crisps.
- FREE fun at Bath City Farm. Come and meet the animals of Noisy Farm and enjoy animal-themed storytime too.
