Five young local musician,all highly talented, compete for the title of Bath Young Musician of the Year 2025

This year’s Bath Young Musician of the Year takes place in a new venue – the impressive setting of the Banqueting Room in Bath’s historic Guildhall. Once again, a group of highly talented young local musicians promise an evening of outstanding performances.

This prestigious annual event is always a much anticipated part of Bath’s musical scene and the Mid-Somerset Festival takes great pride in knowing that many competitors over the years have gone on to enjoy successful musical careers.

The five young performers taking part are:

Gavin Phelps: piano, Jacob Wells-Luttrell: guitar, Ruth Williams: soprano, Matthew Wise: saxophone and Lucas Wong: oboe
