About

Discover more about Dyrham's collection of cabinets from around the world this season. Items including a writing bureau, a square piano, an ebony and ivory cabinet and pieces with beautiful detail on lacquer, will be unlocked for visitors to enjoy.

The pieces mainly date from the 17th and 18th centuries and originate from England, China, the Netherlands, Goa in India, and what is now Jakarta. The cabinets are around the house on the ground and first floor. The cabinets are normally locked for conservation reasons to protect them from wear, tear, dust and light exposure, but they will be opened up for a limited two-week period.
